Kufsteinerland and Wilder Kaiser

Söll

Village by the Wilder Kaiser with Hexenwasser and the Hohe Salve

Söll lies at about 703 metres at the foot of the Hohe Salve, between Wörgl and St. Johann, and has around 3,700 inhabitants. It belongs to the Wilder Kaiser holiday region and to the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, one of the largest connected ski areas in Austria.

The best-known spot is the Hohe Salve (about 1,828 m), with a panorama stretching from the Wilder Kaiser and the Hohe Tauern with the Großglockner to the Kitzbühel Alps. Halfway up lies Hochsöll at about 1,355 metres, the starting point of the Hexenwasser. This is a themed walking trail with more than 50 stations where children can play with water using all their senses, walk barefoot through spring water or bake bread over a fire pit. The trail is reached by the Hexenwasser gondola, and in winter there is a winter walking version.

For families from Niederau, Söll is a suitable day out with children, without long distances. In winter there are slopes for all levels, mostly blue and red. Check beforehand whether the lifts and the Hexenwasser are open and what the current prices are.
