Kufsteinerland and Wilder Kaiser
Quiet village on the Inn near Kufstein, with the Kaisergebirge and many walking routes
Niederndorf lies at about 500 m on the eastern bank of the Inn in the lower Inn valley, roughly 10 km from Kufstein. It is a small holiday village with around 600 guest beds, on the edge of the Kufsteinerland and with views of the Zahmer Kaiser.
The village is mainly attractive to walkers. There are several circular routes such as the Dorf-Runde, the Hechenberg-Runde and the Jennbach-Runde. On the Hechenberg stands the pilgrimage chapel Maria Heimsuchung from 1778, with a bell from 1557. The Hatzenstädt dairy has been making organic mountain cheese for over 70 years and has a 5 km eco-cultural trail. In the village itself there is a small museum on local crafts.
For children there is a 1.2 km toboggan run from the Hechenberg down to the village in winter. There are also two cross-country trails, and larger ski areas are nearby. The Kaisertal hike is considered one of the most beautiful in the Kaisergebirge. From Niederau, Niederndorf is a day trip of about half an hour to three quarters of an hour each way. It suits families who want a relaxed walk and are not looking for crowds.

About 45 minutes by car from Niederau: via Wörgl on the A12 towards Kufstein. Regional buses (lines 4030 and 4036) also serve the village.
