Brixental and Kitzbühel Alps

Fieberbrunn

Largest village in the Pillerseetal, with a ski area and Timoks Wilder Welt

Fieberbrunn lies at about 790 m in the Pillerseetal, a side valley of the Kitzbühel Alps to the north-east of Kitzbühel. It is the largest municipality in the valley and a practical base for a day out from the Wildschönau.

In winter, Fieberbrunn gives access to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski area. There are also cross-country trails and winter walks, which suit anyone who prefers to avoid the busy slopes. The valley feels calmer than the large tourist hubs nearby, which many families appreciate. Plan a full day out, especially if you want to combine several activities.

In summer the surroundings mainly appeal to hikers and mountain bikers. Families can visit Timoks Wilder Welt, which offers an alpine coaster, water play, a climbing park and a rope course. If you want a quieter outing, you can combine the short trip to the nearby Pillersee with a visit to the Jakobskreuz. If you travel with children, you can spread the programme well: a morning at the adventure park, a picnic on the way and a short walk in the late afternoon.
