Familienland Pillersee (St. Jakob in Haus)
Summer Children's leisure park with slides, trampolines and water fun in the Pillerseetal
Brixental and Kitzbühel Alps
Smallest municipality in the Pillerseetal, sunny and quiet, with Familienland
St. Jakob in Haus lies at roughly 855 m between Fieberbrunn and St. Ulrich am Pillersee. With around eight hundred residents it is the smallest municipality in the Kitzbühel district, and tourism is its main source of income.
The village is known as the sunniest in the Pillerseetal, in both summer and winter. That makes it a pleasant starting point for hikes, for example to the Buchensteinwand (1,558 m) with the Jakobskreuz. A pilgrimage route also passes through the village. Because of its modest size the village is easy to get around and quiet. It is not a place for nightlife, but it works well for a relaxed day in nature.
For families, Familienland Pillerseetal is a well-known attraction, with a family roller coaster, a rafting course, Viking land and a climbing hall. In winter you can cross-country ski on a sunny trail that continues via St. Ulrich to Hochfilzen. At the end of June the Stoabergmarsch takes place, a 24-hour hiking event heading towards Leogang. If you want to see more, combine your visit with nearby Fieberbrunn or the Pillersee at St. Ulrich, both only a few kilometres away.
