The Pillerseetal around Fieberbrunn and St. Ulrich am Pillersee bills itself as part of Austria's largest bike region: more than 80 km of lines and trails, reached by nine cable cars on seven mountains. Since 2020 the region has teamed up with Saalbach Hinterglemm and Saalfelden Leogang, giving plenty of choice for multi-day trips.
A good starting point for families is the Bike Area Streuboden near Fieberbrunn, with a flow trail, three lines and a pump track. The Schweinestberg trails run in an easy and a harder version for nearly 4 km from the middle station down to the valley. There are also hundreds of kilometres of touring routes for those who prefer a calmer ride. Ask locally for maps and current trail conditions.
