Zillertal
Peaceful village with the tall Harter Schleierwasserfall and the family ski area Spieljoch
Hart im Zillertal lies at about 660 m at the entrance to the Zillertal, opposite Fügen. It is a small municipality of a little over 1,500 residents and was first mentioned around the year 1100. The village is known as a peaceful place and is best for those who want to relax.
The best-known natural sight is the Harter Schleierwasserfall, at about 91 m the tallest waterfall of its kind in the region. The circular walk to it is roughly 5.7 km long with an ascent of about 280 m. There are also two educational trails, a nature trail and a bird trail, starting from the hamlet of Niederberg. The Gothic parish church of St Bartholomew and the pilgrimage chapel on the Hartberg are the main historic sights.
In autumn the village traditionally celebrates the cattle drive down from the high alpine pastures. The family-friendly Spieljoch ski area is a few minutes away by car. From Niederau, Hart makes a suitable half-day trip, especially in summer for the waterfall.

About 50 minutes by car from Niederau, via Wörgl and the A12 (Zillertal exit), then along the valley to Hart.
Always check times, prices and opening dates with the provider beforehand; they can change.
