Sunny mountain terrace above the Inn valley with chapels and an ice cave
Angerberg is a municipality on a sunny terrace above the Inn valley, at about 650 m. It lies in the Kufsteinerland, around 2.7 km north of Wörgl and about 14 km southwest of Kufstein. It is a scattered, rural village.
What makes it special is the mix of views, quiet and walking options. Many chapels line the paths, and on the high plateau above the village lies the Hundalm ice and stalactite cave. According to the sources available, it is a publicly accessible ice cave in western Austria. The Adlerweg trail also runs through the area.
For families, Angerberg is best for walks with a goal, such as a visit to the cave, or a quiet circuit to the pilgrimage church of Mariastein. From Niederau it takes about 25 minutes via Wörgl. There are few facilities in the village itself, so plan the day in advance and bring water and snacks. The cave lies high up, so warm clothing is sensible even in summer. Ask the tourist office about the season and opening times, as these can change from year to year.

About 25 minutes by car from Niederau: via Oberau to Wörgl, then north up to the Angerberg terrace.
Always check times, prices and opening dates with the provider beforehand; they can change.
