The Tyrolean Wood Museum stands at the entrance to Auffach and was created by its owner Hubert Salcher. Across more than 2,000 m² you walk through a maze of 39 rooms with over 3,000 wooden objects, from the history of the Wildschönau to the art of woodcarving.
Along the way you also meet funny and unusual pieces, such as Europe's smallest wedding chapel, a Pumuckl-style tree house for children and an exhibition on woodworm. A wood theme trail of about 1 km is linked to the museum. Dogs are not allowed. Children up to 1 metre in height enter free; with the Wildschönau Card there is a discount.
