The Bergbauernmuseum z'Bach is an old farmhouse in Oberau with rooms dating from 1795. More than 1,100 to 1,200 items from work, culture and daily life show how Tyrolean mountain farmers used to live: frugally, working hard and with few resources.
On Thursdays there is a traditional craft market, where woodcarvers, turners, shoemakers, felt makers and basket weavers work with old techniques. Children can see how things were once made. The museum sits at the end of the Wirbelwindweg, so it combines well with a walk from Niederau and a visit to the nearby outdoor pool.
