Tratzberg Castle
Castle above the Inn Valley with a painted Habsburg family tree
Tratzberg Castle sits high above the Inn Valley near Stans, between Jenbach and Schwaz. It counts among the finest buildings in the Alps from the transition between Gothic and Renaissance. The courtyard is richly painted and the rooms are furnished with pieces from several centuries.
The best-known part is the Habsburg Hall with a painted family tree of 148 half-figures of roughly life size, painted around 1507/1508 and 46 metres long. The guided tour leads through nine living and state rooms; there is also a separate children's tour. From the Schlosswirt a free small train takes you up (about 8 minutes).

Practical
Tratzberg Castle is at Stans/Jenbach in the Inn Valley, about 40 to 45 minutes by car from Niederau via the A12. Park at the Schlosswirt, where the small train departs.
