Village stroll in Scheffau

A quiet village at the Wilder Kaiser, with paths up to meadows and alpine pastures

With around 1,200 residents, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser is the smallest of the four Kaiser municipalities, a quiet village at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser. You walk past farms with flower gardens and along calm streets; do not expect shopping streets or crowds.

After a loop through the village you can take one of the paths up to the meadows and alpine pastures above it. There are short, family-friendly rounds over the alpine meadows with views of the rock faces. Cows on or beside the path are part of the scene: keep your distance and close gates behind you.
