European Forum Alpbach

Annual international conference in the Tyrolean mountain village of Alpbach

Since 1945 scientists, politicians, business people, artists and students have gathered in Alpbach at the end of each summer for the European Forum. For over two weeks the programme is filled with lectures, debates and workshops, in a village otherwise known for its timber houses and flower-decked balconies.

For a family on holiday this is not a standard day out: the programme is aimed mainly at participants, and access and tickets vary by event. The Euregio Days were free to attend in 2026, so it is worth checking what is open to the public. Even without the forum, Alpbach is a lovely place for a walk or a terrace stop.
