Inn valley
Inn valley village near Kufstein with the Stimmersee and the Pendling above
Langkampfen lies at about 504 m on the northern bank of the Inn, in the lower Inn valley between Kirchbichl and Kufstein. The municipality has just over 3,500 residents and includes the villages of Morsbach, Niederbreitenbach, Oberlangkampfen and Unterlangkampfen. Wooded foothills of the Pendling rise above the village, with fertile meadows towards the river. Kufstein is about 7 km away.
For families, the water is the main draw. The Stimmersee is an artificial lake created between 1928 and 1934, at about 522 m, known for its clear green water; in summer you can swim and sunbathe on the lawns. The 1.7-hectare Strillinger Stausee is a quiet spot for a walk or bike ride in summer and winter. The Heimkehrerkreuz is a viewpoint above the village and a good place for a picnic.
In the late Middle Ages Langkampfen, like Angath and Hall in Tirol, was one of the three big Tyrolean ports for shipping on the Inn. Today it is mostly a farming and commuter village. It suits families who want an afternoon by the water and then plan to carry on to Kufstein or the Pendling.

About 30 minutes by car from Niederau: via Wörgl along the Inn valley (motorway or B171) to Langkampfen, between Kirchbichl and Kufstein.
Always check times, prices and opening dates with the provider beforehand; they can change.
