Water skiing and water sports on the Walchsee

Water skiing, tubes and boat rental on one of Tyrol's warmest lakes

The Walchsee in the Kaiserwinkl is Tyrol's fourth-largest lake by area (about 95 hectares) and warms up to roughly 24 °C in summer. It is said to be the only lake in Tyrol where you can water ski behind a boat, a tradition dating back to the 1950s.

The Karl²O water sports centre offers water skiing, tube and wing rides, stand-up paddleboarding, rental of electric boats and pedal boats, and fishing. Ask beforehand whether wakeboarding is available. Minimum ages differ per activity, so ask about the conditions and book ahead when it is busy.
