Walchsee

One of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol

The Walchsee lies in the Kaiserwinkl between the Kaiser Mountains and the Chiemgau Alps. At around 95 to 100 hectares it is sizeable, and it counts as one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol; in summer the water often reaches 23 to 25 degrees, sometimes a little more.

The water is shallow at many entry points, which suits families with small children. There are several bathing areas that charge admission. On the east shore there are a beach bar, a beach volleyball court and an Aqua Funpark with, among other things, a climbing wall, trampoline and slides. SUP boards and boats can also be hired, although the offer varies by provider.
