Warm moor lake with an open-air lido near Kitzbühel

The Schwarzsee lies a few kilometres from Kitzbühel and is a moor lake. The water is brownish and not crystal clear, but warms up remarkably in summer: it is regarded as one of the warmest moor lakes in Tyrol, with temperatures up to around 27 degrees. On average the water temperature is around 22 degrees.

The open-air lido at the lake has water slides, a diving tower, a children's pool, a playground and beach volleyball and football pitches. During the summer season it is open daily during the day, with a reduced afternoon rate for late arrivals. There are also a few beaches around the lake. A visit fits well with an afternoon in Kitzbühel.
