Moorstrandbad Kirchbichl (Moor Lake Beach)

One of Tirol's oldest bathing spots, on a moor lake

The Moorstrandbad in Kirchbichl is a swimming lake with moor water and, according to tourist sources, one of the oldest open-air baths in Tirol; the bathing site has existed since 1933/34. The official bathing-water profile gives an area of about 1.1 hectares and a maximum depth of roughly 3.7 metres.

Around the lake there are playing fields, a beach volleyball court and a playground, plus a fenced area for non-swimmers. The changing cabins and restaurant were renovated in 2022/23. Dogs are not allowed. From Niederau it lies close to Wörgl, so it combines easily with another outing in the Inn valley.
