Hechtsee lies close to Kufstein, just a short distance from the German border. It is the largest and, at about 57 m, also the deepest lake west of Kufstein, and counts as one of Tyrol's most popular bathing lakes. The beach bath has generous lawns with sun and shade, a playground, children's pools, a diving platform and floating islands.
Children can also enjoy beach volleyball, water volleyball and table tennis. Boats can be hired and there is a lakeside restaurant. A level path runs around the lake, suitable for families with children. The lake combines well with a visit to Kufstein and its fortress.
