Plansee near Reutte

Tyrol's second-largest lake, for swimming and walking

The Plansee lies in the Reutte nature park region and, after the Achensee, is the largest lake in Tyrol. It has two basins about 78 and 72 metres deep and is known for its clear water.

On the shore there is a lawn of roughly 4,000 m² with a stony water's edge. There are no showers or changing cabins, but toilets are available at restaurants and kiosks. This is a natural swimming spot, not a pool complex. You can swim, walk along the water and picnic. It is a long drive from Niederau, so plan it as a day trip, perhaps combined with other sights around Reutte.
