Patscherkofel cable car, Igls

By cable car from Igls up Innsbruck's local mountain

The Patscherkofelbahn departs from Igls, a village on the edge of Innsbruck, and takes you to the top station at over 1,900 metres. It is Innsbruck's local mountain, with views over the city, the Inn valley and hundreds of peaks. In summer the cable car runs from late May to late October.

Up top there is an extensive network of walking paths, from short loops to the summit (2,248 m) and the Zirbenweg towards the Glungezer, a comfortable high-level path through old stone pine forest. You can combine the trip with Innsbruck's old town, but plan it so that you do not try to do everything in one day.
