Mountain hike from the Schatzberg to a 1,964 m summit
The Joelspitze is a 1,964 m summit in the Kitzbühel Alps and a medium-difficulty mountain hike. The best variant starts with the Schatzberg cable car in Auffach. From the top station you follow a gently rising ridge path and a few moderate climbs, about 400 metres of ascent and descent in total.
On the way you pass alpine meadows and moorland, on the ridge between the Wildschönau and the Alpbach valley. At the summit stands a striking statue of Mary and you have views from the Karwendel to the Kaisergebirge and the Zillertal Alps. The hike is about 7.3 km and takes around 3 hours; you return via the Gernalm to the top station of the Schatzberg cable car.
