Krimml Waterfalls

Some of Europe's highest waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park

The Krimml Waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park plunge about 380 m in three stages. A wide, well-made Wasserfallweg of about 4 km with viewpoints follows the falls; allow 2 to 3 hours for the whole route. You do not have to go all the way up: even the lowest fall is impressive.

There is a lot of spray, so a rain jacket is handy. Children often find the power of the water impressive. The Wasserfallweg is open for a fee (€ 9 per person in 2026) from mid-April to the end of October. Allow time for the walk back or a break at one of the viewpoints.
