Karwendel walk near Pertisau

Walking above the Achensee with Karwendel and Rofan views

Pertisau lies on the Achensee, Tyrol's largest lake, and is a starting point for walks into the Karwendel. The Karwendel is an extensive nature park with rugged limestone walls. From Pertisau, paths climb through forest and over alpine pastures, with the occasional view over the lake and the Rofan mountains opposite.

Routes range from short loops to longer outings. Steep paths call for good hiking shoes and basic fitness, so the longer routes suit mainly parents with older children. If you want to keep it relaxed, you can walk along the lake and plan a boat trip or a swim.
