Above Mayrhofen lies the Ahorn area, reached by the Ahornbahn cable car. At the top a circular walk starts across alpine pastures with views over the Zillertal. In summer the meadows are full of flowers, and in early summer the alpine roses bloom too.
The route is easy and takes roughly one to two hours; longer hikes are possible for those who want more. Along the way there are mountain huts for a break, where you can enjoy the view with a drink. It is a pleasant summer outing for the whole family, also for those who prefer a gentle stroll to a long hike. Setting off in the morning usually means a quieter experience at the top.
