Schatzberg cable car in summer
Gondola from Auffach into the hiking area
The Schatzbergbahn starts in Auffach and takes you up in a little over a quarter of an hour; halfway lies the middle station at Berghaus Koglmoos. The top station is at just over 1,770 metres. Up there is a large hiking area with mountain restaurants and huts such as the Schatzbergalm, and views towards peaks like the Gerngipfel and the Joelspitze.
For families it is a practical way to gain height without a long climb. At Koglmoos there is a water playground with a big slide and a trampoline, plus a goat enclosure and rabbits. In 2026 the summer season runs from 4 June to 4 October; check the timetable and the weather beforehand.
