Fishing in the Wildschönau
Fishing for trout and char in the Wildschönauer Ache
In the Wildschönau you can fish for trout and char in summer. There are two fishing waters: the Wildschönauer Ache, from Schönanger to the Kundler Klamm, and the Wörgler Bach, from Oberau to the Wörgler Berg. Fishing is possible from 1 May to 1 October.
As a visitor you need a Tyrolean guest fishing card, valid for fourteen days, plus a day licence for the water you choose. The day licence is issued by the manager of the fishing water; ask at the municipal office or tourist office where to get one. This is not an activity for small children: it takes patience and quiet. For older children and teenagers it can be a calm, special experience in beautiful surroundings.

Tips
- Arrange the guest card and day licence before you go; you may not fish without the papers.

Practical
The waters are in the valley itself and can be reached from Niederau by car in a few minutes up to about 15 minutes, depending on the stretch you choose. Licences can be arranged at the municipal or tourist office.
