Wildschönau Talfest

Summer village festival with music and costume

The Wildschönauer Talfest is the valley's big summer festival. The 69th edition ran from 6 to 9 August 2026 in Niederau, organised by the Bundesmusikkapelle Niederau. For four days it is all about brass music, party evenings and living tradition.

The highlight is the large Sunday parade, "Die Große Wildschönauer Hochzeit" (the Great Wildschönau Wedding), with around 500 participants in traditional costume, richly decorated floats, bands, marksmen's companies and clubs. It is a good chance to see and hear Tyrolean customs up close. Dates and programme change from year to year, and the organising band rotates, so check the events calendar beforehand.
