Gipföhit (Schatzberg)
A hut just below the Schatzberg summit
The Gipföhit stands high on the Schatzberg above Auffach. The spelling varies between sources (Gipfö Hit, Giphöhit), but they all refer to the same hut. According to the route descriptions it is about half an hour on foot from the top station of the Schatzbergbahn.
The hut features in several hiking and ski-touring routes, including a circular walk of around four kilometres past the Schatzbergalm and the summit area (highest point 1,882 m). The kitchen serves regional dishes. It suits people who want a break after a stretch on foot, rather than a quick coffee right beside the piste.
