Schmittenhöhe at Zell am See

Panorama mountain above Lake Zell with hikes for all levels

The Schmittenhöhe is Zell am See's home mountain and in summer a destination for panoramic hikes. The Schmittenhöhebahn takes you to about 2,000 m, with views of Lake Zell and more than thirty peaks over 3,000 m, including the Grossglockner and the Dachstein. Since summer 2024 the Kaiserblick panorama platform with a glass floor has stood near the summit.

Up top, hiking routes for all levels begin. There is also an adventure world for children, and in summer guided herb walks are among the offers. A popular day plan is to ride up, walk down, and then visit the lake at Zell am See.
