Rosengarten Gorge, Imst

Short gorge walk with waterfalls close to Imst town centre

The Rosengarten Gorge starts a few minutes' walk from the centre of Imst, at the Johanneskirche, and runs about 1.5 km uphill to the Blaue Grotte in Hoch-Imst. The path follows the Schinderbach past rock walls and small bridges. The Blaue Grotte is an old mine with two waterfalls.

From early or mid-May to roughly the end of October the gorge is freely accessible and free of charge. In storms, hail or heavy rain it may be impassable. It is a short, varied walk that children often find exciting; the path is wet and slippery in places. Combine it with a visit to the town.
