Golf Resort Achental, Grassau

A flat 18-hole course with water and 64 bunkers

Next to the Das Achental resort in Grassau lies an 18-hole course (par 72) that opened in 2013. It was designed by Thomas Himmel. The terrain is flat with links and moorland features. It measures 5,835 m from the white tees and 4,316 m from the shortest ladies' tees.

According to the resort the course has water hazards, thick rough, well-guarded greens and 64 bunkers, some of them very large. That makes it easy to walk but not toothless. One source says the course was rated five-star superior by the Bavarian golf body BVGA (2020). From Niederau, Grassau lies on the Bavarian side of the Chiemgau Alps, on the way towards the Chiemsee.
