Pony and horse riding in the region

Haflingers and ponies on the alpine pastures for young and old

Haflingers are a well-known Tyrolean horse breed: compact, strong and usually calm by nature, which makes them suitable for beginners and children. In the area around St. Johann and the Wildschönau you can go riding, from short pony rides for toddlers to longer rides on horseback or by carriage for adults.

Ask the tourist office about riding stables and stud farms nearby and book in advance. Ponies are too small for adults; children are often led by hand under supervision. If you like, combine the outing with a visit to a farm, so the children also learn more about the animals.
