Ice skating in the Wildschönau

Skating on the rink at the Familienpark Drachental

In winter the Familienpark Drachental in Oberau has an ice rink. Skates can be hired on site, and with advance registration ice stock shooting (a Tyrolean cousin of curling) is also possible. It is a good idea for an afternoon off the slopes: children practise on the ice while parents watch or join in.

The park is generally closed on Mondays and open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, but times can vary. Check opening times and the rink's entry price beforehand. Bring warm gloves and a hat; it gets cold quickly on the ice.
