Norderbergalm
A gourmet hut half an hour from the Markbachjoch
The Norderbergalm lies at about 1,360 m, around half an hour on foot from the Markbachjoch top station along a forest track that runs gently downhill. Hiking sites sometimes give a different altitude (up to 1,500 m), so take it as a rough figure. From Niederau it is about an hour and a half uphill.
The hut is known for Tyrolean specialities and home-baked cakes, and reviewers praise the Kaiserschmarrn. There is a cycling evening on Thursdays in summer and a ski-touring evening in winter. A nice family route is the gondola up, a walk to the alm and back to the top station. Ask the hut or check the official site for what is currently possible.
