The Kafner Ast is a ski hut at roughly 1,600 m on the Wiedersbergerhorn above Alpbach. It stands beside the piste under the Gmah six-seater chairlift, in the middle of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau area. It works on a self-service basis: you collect your own food and drink and then pick a table.
Indoors there are panelled wooden parlours, and outside is a sunny terrace. According to the official Ski Juwel page, home-baked cakes are on offer and the hut is a meeting point for locals and visitors alike. A Tirol.at article describes it as family-run and recently renovated. One overview lists no beds, so think of it as a daytime stop rather than a place to stay.
