A simple winter walk runs between Niederau and Oberau, following the stream past traditional Tyrolean farmhouses. The flat section along the water can also be done with a snow buggy, which makes the route suitable for families with small children and for grandparents.
Along the way you pass frozen brooks, wooden bridges and views of the Kitzbühel Alps. There is a shorter version of about 3 km and a longer one of about 6 km; allow 1 to 3 hours. The route starts in the centre of Niederau and can be reached on foot from many accommodations. The tourist office can tell you how the paths currently look.
