For families the Rosenalmbahn at Zell am Ziller is especially handy, taking you into the Kreuzjoch hiking area. There is a summer toboggan run at the valley station, and up top there are play areas and themed paths for children. You can walk a short loop and ride back down, or plan a longer trip across alpine meadows and past huts. Let the children's ages and the weather decide.
