Hahnenkammbahn, Kitzbühel

Gondola up the Hahnenkamm with panoramic paths and views of the Streif

The Hahnenkammbahn is the gondola from Kitzbühel up the Hahnenkamm, the mountain where the famous Streif downhill race is held every year. In summer it is a hiking and mountain-biking area. The top station is at about 1,650 m.

From the top station, panoramic paths lead across alpine meadows, for instance towards the Pengelstein, with views of the Kitzbühel Alps and the Wilder Kaiser. For children there is a climbing trail for practising on rocky terrain. If you want to see the Streif you can look at parts of the slope on foot, although the way down is steep. It combines an easy ride with a short or longer walk and a visit to the town of Kitzbühel.
