A tandem flight with a pilot over the Wildschönau
The Wildschönau is regarded as a good area for paragliding, partly because the valley is sheltered from strong wind. The take-off is next to the top station of the Markbachjochbahn in Niederau. One operator, Fly2 Tandemflights, runs tandem flights with experienced pilots.
You are strapped to a pilot and descend roughly 600 m in height from about 1,500 m. The flight itself lasts several minutes, the whole activity a little over half an hour to three quarters of an hour. Flights depend on wind and weather, so a back-up date is often needed. Age and weight limits vary by operator; ask beforehand. The view over the Kitzbühel Alps is the big reward.
