In winter you can take a horse-drawn sleigh ride in the Wildschönau. You sit under a blanket while the horses pull you calmly past snowy meadows and through woods. It is a relaxed way to see the winter landscape, even if you do not ski.
A well-known operator is Ossi Hausberger at the Jausenstation Foisching, above Niederau. According to tourist information he runs rides only in winter, every day except Monday and Tuesday, for groups of two or more and by appointment only. For special occasions or groups other rides are possible on request. At Foisching you will also find a cosy hut with a sun terrace and a deer park.
