Achensee boat trip

By boat across Tyrol's largest lake

The Achensee lies between the Karwendel and Rofan ranges and is the largest lake in Tyrol. Boats have been sailing its emerald-green water since 1887; the company was founded by Abbot Albert Wildauer of Fiecht Abbey, with the steamship St. Josef as its first vessel.

A trip on the lake is a relaxed outing for families: you sit outdoors, watch the mountain slopes glide by and can get off along the way, for example at Pertisau for a walk by the water. At Seespitz the historic Achenseebahn steam rack railway connects. Boats run from early May to late October; sailing times vary by day, so check them in advance.
