SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is one of Austria's largest ski areas, with roughly 275 to 288 km of pistes (figures vary). Eight to nine villages are linked by lifts, including Hopfgarten, Brixen im Thale, Westendorf, Söll, Ellmau, Going, Itter and Scheffau. The area is so large that you can hardly see all of it in one day.

For a varied day away from the Ski Juwel it is a natural choice. Most pistes suit beginners and intermediates, there are three fun parks, and Söll has a large night skiing area. Mountain restaurants are everywhere. A SkiWelt day pass is sold separately; ask at the ticket office for current prices. Start from Hopfgarten or Söll, about 25 minutes by car from Niederau.
