Trout fishing in the Wildschönauer Ache

Fishing for trout and char in the valley river

The Wildschönauer Ache runs through the valley and is a fishing water for trout and char. In summer it is a quiet pastime for a morning or evening by the water. There are two fishing waters in the region: the Wildschönauer Ache (from Schönanger to the Kundler Klamm) and the Wörgler Bach (from Oberau to the Wörgler Berg).

For guests the procedure is fixed: you need a Tyrolean guest fishing card, valid for 14 days and for the whole of Tyrol, plus a day permit for the specific water, issued by its manager. Fishing is only possible from 1 May to 1 October. For children it is mostly a lesson in patience; adult supervision is sensible.
