Short, pushchair-friendly walk with herb boards and a playground
The Auenweg in Niederau is a short loop of about 1 kilometre, almost flat and easily done in half an hour. The path follows a small stream, there are benches for a rest and it is fine with a pushchair. Boards along the route explain which herbs grow here and what they are used for, so it doubles as a herb trail.
There is a playground in the middle of the route. The walk starts at the walking-map board ("Wanderbuch") below the Markbachjochbahn, in the middle of the village, and can be done all year; in winter the path is gritted when needed. If you want more, continue to the Jausenstation Foisching; just above the hut a herd of red deer lives in a large enclosure.
